So MANY things going through my mind right now (kids, home, husband, mom, dad, brothers, sisters, friends....) I feel like I have a severe case of A.D.D. I can't walk five feet without forgetting what the heck I'm doing. Can't sleep, can't take anything to help me sleep so I'm kinda like a zombie right now. AAAHHHHHAAAARRRRR (that's my zombie moan :)
Hasn't been an easy couple days (yesterday especially). Really don't want to be thinking about a major surgery right now. Ummmm, too late to postpone it? I think so... What am I even saying? Duh, Kristi, you've been waiting for this for HOW long and now you're second guessing? Probably a little too late to be doing that. OK, I've officially lost it. I'm talking about/to myself in the third person. WOW wacko!
On a better note, L-O-V-E Madison in the Fall. Beautiful place to visit. Would love to be here just for vacation. It's cool but not freezing during the day, very cold at night and clean and clear as can be. Madison is surrounded by lakes and the architecture is amazing. There are tons of old, big, gorgeous homes that have been renovated and are just amazing to see. Some very old and VERY wealthy looking neighborhoods. I could spend all day driving through them and seeing all of these gorgeous houses!
So, off I go tomorrow early (6 a.m. arrival and 8:30 a.m. surgery) to have this surgery I have waited so long to have. Is it normal to second guess when you get to this point? I haven't been really nervous until now, so maybe this is normal?!?! Who know's? Besides, I've never been NORMAL so why start now, huh?
Since I'm just rambling uncontrollably (because I can't keep my own thoughts straight in my head HAHA) I will stop this post and do a new one in the morning while I'm waiting for everything to happen. Stay tuned friends... Hopefully, this time tomorrow it will all be over and I will be on my way to a speedy recovery! Lots of love to all!
With lots of love,
Kristi

2 Weeks Pre-op
So, I woke up this morning and the fact that I am less than two weeks away from my surgery kinda threw me into a little panic... There is still so much to do before we leave. Two more fundraisers (Poker Tourney 10/23 & Fall Fest Fundraiser 10/25). Gotta get the house in order for the kids (grocery shopping, laundry completely done, Target run for household items, etc.), gotta make sure we have everything needed for our trip (proper clothes, toiletries, books, games, things to keep us occupied), and most importantly, gotta make sure everyone knows how much they have helped me and is making this all possible...
Everyone has been working so hard and selflessly for us to reach our goal and your generosity and kindness has been soooo overwhelming. I really cannot even explain how this makes me feel so "overwhelming" is the best word I can use because it makes me happy, thankful, blessed, grateful, and so many other feelings that it is just that, overwhelming.... THANK YOU EVERYONE!
Update on surgery: It has been pushed back two days due to a scheduling conflict with Dr. Siebert. He'll have to be in New York on 11/1 & 11/2 but will be back to Madison the afternoon of 11/2 for surgery on 11/3. Thank goodness! I've waited over 10 years, I guess two more days won't make hurt! :)
Eddie and I will have a few days more to kill than anticipated in Madison. So we'll have a mini-vacation before surgery and have NO IDEA what we're going to do. I HATE being cold and am certain it's cold there, so hopefully they have a good mall or movie theatre or something... LOL
Come out and play poker on Saturday, 10/23. Buy-in is $40. Grand prize is $500. Let me know if interested in playing. Also, the Fall Fest Fundraiser will be on Monday, 10/25 3-8pm in the parking area at the old MarVal center. Spaghetti Dinner, vendor booths (jewelry, hand bags, Tupperware, produce to name a few), fun for kids and adults. Still have vendor spots available ($20). Hair Gone Wild will be doing a Deep Conditioning with Gloss-in for $30 between 4-6pm and will donate that and 10% of all products sold that day.
Hope to see everyone out at these last two events! Take care and THANK YOU!

Kristi

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G
The word above is the best word I could find to describe the Rio Linda community & the Rio High alumni that showed up yesterday to show your support at the car wash! I was literally AMAZED at the support and generosity that so many have shown.
Not only was the car wash itself a huge success, but I came home to find a VERY generous donation on my on-line fundraising account. It officially pushed me over the 1/2 way mark to my goal. I am overwhelmed with your generosity. Thank you so much!!!
A huge group of students were out in the heat, working their butts off and washing cars. This event was their community service project! I keep saying, "I'M their community service project!" And I'm so thankful that I am. These kids (I call them kids because, to me, anyone under 30 are kids! :) literally worked from the moment they got there until the moment they left. And they did it all for someone that they had never met. I not only walk away from this with a HUGE amount of donations, but also with a renewed hope in people in general. They didn't HAVE to do this, but they selflessly gave of themselves and I will always be grateful to each and every one of them! Sincerely, thank you from the bottom of my heart!
And to my friends and family who came out for the moral support, that I seem to SO badly need these days (since I have officially become a cry baby), how do I say thank you to you all when you have all given so much of yourselves and your hearts? I can only do so by saying that you fill my life with a love and joy so powerful that I feel more blessed than any person has a right to be! Thank you! You are ALL amazing!
With lots of love,
Kristi

Busy Day
Good Morning Everyone!
Today I'll be baking goodies for tomorrow's fundraising event - Car Wash/Bake Sale, 10 am - 3 pm @ Archway Market in Rio Linda. You won't want to miss that. I'll have several mini Apple O's and Toffee Fudge Chocolate Chip Bars. Both are sinfully delicious, if I may say so myself!!! :) Others will also be making some yummy baked goods so come on out and indulge your sweet tooth. You won't be sorry!
Also, I'm going to be going through some pictures to start posting on here. I've been avoiding having my pictures taken for so long, that's going to be a chore!
I still wake up in the morning feeling so blessed and amazed at what has transpired over a few, short weeks. It's almost unreal. Like it's happening, but really it's one of those things that you usually only read about - "Local Town Rallies to Help One of Their Own." So I feel like I'm looking in from afar at times. Thank God I'm from Rio Linda!
See you all tomorrow! XOXO
With lots of love,
Kristi

Fundraising Thanks!!!
Thank you so much to those who have done fundraising for me in efforts to help me get to Wisconsin!
Tracy Gordon - Premier Design Jewelry - Tracy graciously hosted a PDJ party on 9/17. Thank you so much for taking the time and donating your proceeds to me. I will forever be thankful for your hard work and generosity!!! (If anyone is interested in booking a party, please let me know. Tracy is the bestest!)
Deanna Smith - Car wash (9/19) - D, who ever would have thought that we'd make such a killing on a car wash?? Wow, I am very grateful to you for planning and getting everyone out to help and get their cars washed (even in the sprinkles)... You are responsible for putting a huge dent in the funds needed to reach our goal! Thanks girl!
Also, thank you to everyone who helped at that car wash and purchased through the jewelry party.
To those of you who have donated on your own - WOW! I cannot believe the generosity of everyone and am so unbelievably amazed at the kindness being shown. You are all helping me do something that I have been waiting for many, many years! I'm so thankful - words can't express my gratitude!
More to come... xoxo

Welcome to my blog...
With the overwhelming show of support in my fundraising efforts to make my surgery possible, I wanted everyone to be able to follow me throughout this exciting adventure...
I am going to try to document everything (with help from Eddie while I'm in Wisconsin - HAHA). Those of you who know Eddie well, know that he is completely computer illiterate, so it shall be quite interesting. :)
Thank you again to everyone for their support!
Stay tuned!!!
With lots of love,
Kristi
